Here is a revisit of an old experiment. I have a stash of old chips from my dads garage. Every Christmas, I would take a few more things that seemed interesting. One of the chips I came across was a tone encoder for dial up phones.
There is not really a lot to the chip. Its pretty much a matrix 4x4 that you set to get a pair of tones.
I used a picaxe to load in values in a 4094 to get the tones. The program just kinda picked random values.
It sounds kinda neat, but certainly is a one trick pony.
Will not make it into my lunetta though. Im not even sure what I did with that chip.
